Update: Governor Wike rescues Ex NDDC MD, Joy Nunieh, from Police siege
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has visited the home of embattled ex-Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Joy Nunieh who was under what seemed like an house arrest by armed security operatives.
Nyesom Wike in video (that has gone viral on the internet), was seen in company of his convoy in Joy Nunieh’s house in what appears as a rescue mission. Wike was seen assisting the former NDDC into his official car while he drove out of her residence to the state government house.
It was earlier reported by our news desk ( https://agbator.com/nddc-crisis-armed-police-officers-surround-ex-md-nuniehs-house/ ) that the armed security operatives forcefully blocked Joy Nunieh’s residence for hours preventing her from going out.
Speaking to newsmen on telephone, Nunieh said she was surprised at the invasion of her home by Police officers, who came without an arrest warrant.
The former MD of NDDC, therefore, thanked Governor Wike for living up to his promise of protecting her.
