Policemen Storm Ondo State Assembly Complex

Security personnel from the Ondo State Police Command were on Tuesday morning sighted at the state House of Assembly complex .

Further investigation by our newsdesk reveals that the policemen were deployed in the Assembly complex following the information that the lawmakers might have a rowdy session today.

The police patrol vehicles were seen parked inside and outside the Assembly complex .

The Ondo Deputy Governor had on Sunday defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party, raising concerns in the political circle.

According to a source at the Assembly, who confirmed the situation to Sahara reporters said, workers at the legislative complex were currently scampering for safety.

“We woke up to see policemen in our complex this morning manning strategic positions. I overheard one of them saying they were asked by the commissioner of police to stay here.

“I have found my way out of the complex while other workers are running away in order not to be affected,” he said.

Recall that the Deputy Governor and his boss have been at loggerheads over the control of the state with their relationship becoming frosty following Governor Akeredolu’s declaration to seek re-election.
