Covid 19: Understanding the new relaxation directives by the PTF in brief
The presidential task force (PTF) on COVID-19 on Monday, through it Chairman, Boss Mustapha, announced that President Muhammadu Buhari said the second phase of the eased lockdown would be in place for four weeks. The new directive in brief:
-Curfew in the country is now from 10pm to 4am.
-Banks in the country to resume normal working hours.
-Civil servants to work from 9am to 2pm Monday to Friday. This is for workers on grade level 14 and above, both in the federal and state civil service.”
-The nationwide curfew remains in place but the time has been extended to 10pm.
However, healthcare workers and journalists are exempted from the curfew.
-Ban on gatherings of more than 20 people outside of a workplace
-Relaxation of restriction on places of worship based on guidelines issued by the PTF and protocols agreed by state governments.
-Managed access to markets and locations of economic activity to limit the risk of transmission ;
-Ban on inter – state travels except for the movement of agricultural produce , petroleum products , manufactured goods , and essential services ;
-Mandatory use of non -medical face masks in public places;
-Mandatory provision of handwashing facilities / sanitisers in all public places .”
-The Presidential Task Force on COVID – 19 has requested the Aviation Industry to start developing protocols for domestic flights to possibly resume from June 21.
-For now , all the schools are to remain closed, the Presidential Task Force on COVID -19 announces the directive.
