Buhari’s political associate, Isa Funtua, Is Dead

Malam Isa Funtua passed away on Monday at the aged of 78.

President Mohammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad has expressed his heartfelt sorrow at the death of Mallam Isa Funta, who was also an in-law to the president.

Mallam Ismail Isa Funta who was the founding Managing Director of Democrat Newspaper and Former President of the Newspaper Proprietors Association is said to have died of cardiac arrest on Monday.

According to Ahmad, life could be unpredictable sometimes, noting that someone could be fine one minute and in the next few minutes, he is no more. He however, prayed that God accepts the soul of the deceased.

Ahmad also tweeted, “inna lilahi wa inna ilahi raji’un. Just heard about Mallam Ismail Isa Funta’s sudden death. This life! May Allah accepts his soul and forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jonnah Al-firdau.

Mallam Ismail Isa Funta who was a philanthropist, a life patron of NPAN and a staunch defender of free press and free speech is said to be buried on Tuesday according to Islamic rites.

However, news coming from social media suggest that Funta died of Covid 19 but that can not be ascertained as at the time of this report.
