“Senator Nwaoboshi receives N1billion monthly from NDDC” – Joy Nunieh

Reports reaching our newsdesk have revealed that ex-Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, Joy Nunieh has, at the hearing probe of the commission by the National Assembly Committee, revealed that Senator Nwaoboshi collects 1BILLION NAIRA every month from the NDDC.

A document has also been leaked to the public on social media on various contracts through which the money was laundered.

Sen. Nwaoboshi is the Chairman, Senate Committee on NDDC, representing Delta North. It was rumoured to have laundered the money through some of the fraudulent and undelivered contracts he took from NDDC.

There was also a breakdown of how the Niger Delta Development Commission allegedly spent N81.5 billion allocated to it from January to May 2020.

The agency alledgedly spent N85.6million on overseas travels, N1.3billion on community relations, N122.9 million on condolences, N83 million on consultancy, N31.4 billion on covid-19, N486 million on DTA, N790.9 on imprest, N1.956 billion on Lassa fever, N900 million on legal services and N220 million on maintenance.

However, as at the time of this report, the senator is yet to respond to the allegations.
